Q: Can I run this from a generator or any other compressor by Lane Hornberger from Pennsylvania on June 27, 2011
A: No, the compressor manufacturer's do not recommend using generators to power their air compressors due to the high start up current. They recommend gasoline engine driven compressors for remote applications where utility power is not available. by Steve, Product Expert

Vt6275
I researched quite a few makes and models of compressors before purchasing. Air Compressors Direct saved me over a hundred dollars compared to Big Box stores. Free Shipping, & Free Lift gate service !!!
Delivery was in a few days. Instructions were clear and very easy to follow.
I will buy from them again.

No Price Match
Love the compressor but found the EXACT same compressor at a big box store for less money. I thought I would get some satisfaction when I brought it up to Air Compressors Direct but they said they could do nothing for me.
ACD RESPONDS: Your previous review said the unit was a Husky brand model; since we don't carry that line we can't verify if the units are an exact match or not; we also don't know Husky's pricing structure. If the other unit had been a Campbell Hausfeld VT6275, we may have been able to help you. Other retail industries (like mattresses & electronics) work the same way- price matching has to be for the exact same make & model.
We offer the best prices we can every day; for many folks (except for those in NH and other states with no sales tax) not having to pay sales tax or shipping can add up to substantial savings.

Campbell Hausfeld Vt6275 Is A Great Compressor
I purchased this compressor approximately 5-6 months ago, and the compressor has worked out great.
I already had a 240v outlet available, so no additional wiring was necessary. I simply placed the compressor where I wanted it, borrowed a hammer drill, and drilled the pilot holes for the anchor bolts. No problems with placing the anchor bolts. Once the holes were drilled I did place rubber padded steel plates to reduce the vibration and stress on the feet of the compressor.
I believe these were an additional $12 which is not terrible, and well worth the cost. I did have to buy a power cord (seems odd that it wasn't included) which added another $15-20 to the total price and was easily installed in approximately 5 minutes.
The directions for the compressor leave much to be desired, but most if not all of the setup is self explanatory. I simply plugged in the unit and fired it up. It has worked without any trouble since day one. I love this compressor.
I have worked on cars using impact wrenches, air ratchets, and air drills without any problems. I also paint using this compressor and it keeps up easily with my hvlp spray gun.
I can't say enough good things about this compressor.

I Love This Compressor!
Wow, I love this compressor! It can handle anything I throw at it, including cutoff tools and auto painting, and doesn’t miss a beat.
Airflow is excellent, and given the outstanding results thus far, I could not justify the added expense of going with a two-stage model, even though they do run a bit cooler.
That being said, installation is not for the novice, thus maybe a 2-star rating for ease of use, and the installation manual is really sad.
In the case of this compressor, you are going to need to install a 240v breaker, dedicated line from breaker to compressor, anchor the compressor to the floor, and plumb from the tank out, including a pressure regulator (not provided) for the line pressure.
The cost however, even with the added expense, makes it one heck of a bargain.
