Chicago Pneumatic 5-HP 60-Gallon Dual-Voltage Two-Stage Air Compressor

I was looking for an upgrade to my oil-less 30 gallon compressor that I had built into a cabinet to keep the noise down. This limited my search somewhat as I wanted a compact compressor to fit into the space of the old compressor. The CP RCP-561VNS was one of the few to fit into my space. It has great specs for the price and I am very happy with it so far.

The noise is a bit higher than my enclosed oil-less, but not much. It is very easy to talk while it is in operation. The tank fills quickly, and with 165psi, it does not have to fill very often.

My only issue is that the drain was stuck when I purchased it. I removed the drain cock and found that it was full of some welding chaff-like stuff. After cleaning that out it has worked fine. But, I think it would be best to install a small ball valve instead of the cheap drain cock.

it is impossible to reach a person by phone. We have tried calling numerous times with just an answering machine.

Wanted some thing capable without running all the time- 2 stage was the only way to go.

The problem was price: YOU GUYS ROCK!!!! The price was cheaper than at the local box store (which does not offer a 2 stage unit). It arrived undamaged and ready to work.

Well, I've been so busy with work that I barely got the electrician over last night to wire everything up. First, the compressor looks very nice. The compressor came with oil already in the motor.

The manual is almost useless. It explains nothing about installation at all. It assumes you're up to speed on how to install a compressor.

I fired the compressor up last night for about 30 seconds. Opened the check valve and waited nearly two minutes for air to drain out. This compressor is super fast and fairly quiet. I still need to order a regulator before I start extensive use. However, I am impressed with the performance so far.

This compressor is used to drive the fog horns at Levi Stadium in Santa Clara, CA. Impressive fog horns, audible at 3.1 miles away. Dangerous within 30 feet. From what the plumbers told me they used Chicago Pneumatic at candlestick park as well. Knowing the 49ers, I wouldn't be surprised if they chose this compressor just because the red was closer to team colors than any other compressor disregarding that it wasn't even visible to the crowd.
