I received this compressor and the motor shot sparks everywhere when I plugged it in. I called customer service and they had Hulk send me another one.

I was happy with how fast they resolved the issue but when I got the replacement compressor the entire box was covered with some sort of oil. Which explained why Hulk sent it in two boxes with the one on the inside wrapped in plastic.

The compressor had some oil on it. Not a big deal. I was just disappointed that Hulk shipped it to me in that condition when they apparently knew the box was covered in oil.

I went ahead an ordered it. When it came in I notice that the side of the box had what looked like a patch on it. The crankcase case end was cracked and the air filter was broken by what looked like it had been dropped on that area of the compressor. I notified the compressor company about what I discovered and the customer servvce rep Natalie was a great help in getting me the parts shipped to me.

When the parts arrived, they were for an older model. I emailed Natalie about the wrong parts and she got right back with and said that I had a newer model. She re-sent the part and I received them in no time.

Replaced the parts and the compressor runs GREAT. It really is a great compressor and really great people to work with to make something that was caused by the shipping company right. They did everything that they could to make a wrong- right and I thank them.

The first one was delivered without a box, damage to the cord and a minor leak at one of the disconnects, but I spoke to Emax, the manufacturer, and they promptly sent another one and arranged for a pickup by UPS.

In fairness to Emax, it appears UPS unboxed the unit in transit, and that is when it most likely sustained damage.

The compressor runs smoothly and more quietly than most and appears to be well-built. The overall dimensions appear smaller than I thought they would be, and it's not too heavy for one person to carry.

I bought this unit to blow out my sprinkler system although the sales rep at Air Compressors Direct.com recommended the belt-driven model that was $300+ more. When there was still a fair amount of water in the lines, the compressor was able to raise all 6 or 7 heads in the series.

However, as the water left the system, the volume of air this compressor produced was insufficient to power all of the heads simultaneously. By allowing the tank to fill completely and then adjusting the outlet pressure to 50 PSI as quickly as possible, I was able to remove most of the water, although it took 3-4 attempts per zone.

We'll see if there are any broken heads or ruptured lines next spring, but I think the goal is to remove most of the water, not necessarily all of it. For all other tasks, this compressor seems to be a better-than-average value for the money.

As for the sprinkler project, if I had it to do all over again, I would probably buy the biggest tank with the most horsepower I could afford (on a 15 amp circuit) regardless of quality or brand of the unit knowing that I'm only going to use it once a year.

I received this for Christmas and I was slightly confused. The color is not green at all- it is dark gray in color and it says it has a 2.5 HP motor on it.

There are no specifications listed anywhere on the unit or in the manual displaying what the CFM is.

However, it was very easy to put together and I like the layout and design so far.
