I work in the oilfield and needed a gas powered compressor that could handle an automatic grease gun for greasing industrial pumpjacks, airing up flat tires, and running a decent impact wrench.

I have never bought any Hitachi stuff before and I admit that I was a bit reluctant, because I like to go with names I have experience with.

After I bought the unit, I took off the rubber feet and the tires, and bolted it down to my truck bed. I have dragged that poor compressor through rain, mud, cold, heat- you name it. It starts on the first pull every time, and never fails.

I don't have to let off the trigger on my grease gun, and can empty 16oz. within 2 minutes. I have changed tires and aired them back up (after plugging them) in the field, miles back on dirt roads with no cell phone service.

On top of all that it is really fuel efficient and suprisingly quiet, even though that wasn't a major selling point for my needs.

This is hands-down the best tool and emergency device I have ever added to the collection of tools in my truck.

I can't remember how I did the job without it now.
