We ordered the air compressor for a trailer we build in our shop. We ordered it early because the last one we ordered came late and was installed later than it should have been installed on the trailer.
So when we opened the undamaged box, the whole shroud on the air compressor was bent and pushed in. The two guys in the shop that were working in the area that the air compressor gets installed, both said that the box was undamaged. No dents, so scrapes, no dings, nothing!!!. So they both were shocked when they opened the box to find the shroud so damaged.
We sent in pictures to our dealer to show him when we put the box back together (which we could because we handled opening the box with such care) that the box was undamaged. So, pictures were taken immediately and set off to the dealer.
Dealer said because we waited so long (approx 1 month) and that the box looked taped up(duh we tried to put it back together like it was to show that no damage) they would not honor the damages.
Because the cost of the shroud is so minor, I think the deal and Rand could have at the very least provided a new shroud..
I guess we dont need to buy Rand air compressors any more for our trailers.
6/10/11 Checked our files, not our customer- it sounds like they got it locally. A month is too long for ship damage claims. BJ
