Very Handy
I bought this compressor to replace my old 2.0-HP, 8-gallon Husky which had worn out. The reason for buying this compressor was for use around-the-home (i.e., general utility). I use a compressor from everything from driving air tools to airing tires, it's also very handy for cleaning operations such as blowing out filters or even dusting out the inside of a computer chassis.

For a home owner, I consider having a small compressor to be a necessity. The problem with my old compressor was... more

Not Up To Par
While the online advertisement claims 5 CFM this unit is only rated for 3.8, and its lucky if it can achieve this. I have a 4.0 CFM impact gun this compressor barely gets it to engage, never mind take the lug off a car tire. Now I have to pay to ship it back.

Avoid at all costs....I'm going with a 7.0 CFM compressor from a chain store.

Scott,
We checked with the folks at Speedway, they confirm that this pump bench tests at 6CFM @ 40 PSI, 5 CFM @ 90 PSI.

CFM is measured straight out of the pump, without any hose or tools. When figuring the demand your air tool will place on a unit you need to look at the CFM (volume) and PSI (pressure) of air that it needs, and then allow a little more to account for loss in the air hose.

This unit is great for nailers and staplers, but it will take a brawnier unit (no matter what the brand) to power the demands of an impact wrench.

Very Satisfied
This was a replacement for my old Husky 2.5-HP 8-Gallon compressor.

The larger tank makes all the difference as it doesn't need to run as much to maintain exit pressure and maintains pressure longer.

The unit runs smooth, is relatively quiet, and does not bleed off pressure when not in use.

I am very satisfied with this compressor's performance.

So Far, So Good
Have not used the unit very much, but seems to work well. Holds air for a long time, no bleed down.
