When only the most powerful will do, this made-in-USA unit will deliver a superior performance.

It's rated as Extended Duty because the manufacturer recommends 50-hour service intervals. The deep fins and cooling fan reduce heat and wear. The exclusive forced-air system cools the compressor body with a 100 cfm fan built into the housing shroud, while an internal fan cools the 5HP modified electric motor.
This cooling combination results in a superior 100% duty cycle at 200 psi- plenty of power for your off-road and on-road applications.
There's a connection point so you can install a switch, but you will need to supply the switch. The unit also comes with 10' of #4 AWG cable to make the install easier.

12 Volt Continuous Air
The compressor is very high quality. It was installed in a small fire rescue truck to operate air horns. The unit is set up to run only air horns. There is no tank on the truck and so far there has been no problems.
Customer is very happy with the outcome.

Oasis Is The Best
For field servicing of our pneumatic tools, we have found Oasis Air Compressors to be superior to anything that we have used in the past.
For reliability and serviceability there is no substitute for Oasis.

The Sheriff Has A New Deputy!
Look at how your compressors have helped us: it used to take us an average of 18 minutes to change a flat with a 4-way wrench.
With the compressor and impact wrench it takes us less than 7 minutes (start to finish). When you work on the highways with 60-plus mile per hour traffic this setup reduces our exposure to high speed traffic by 62%.
Talk about a safety story, not to mention that it’s less wear and tear on the body.

Great Compressor & Fast Shipping
I got this compressor just a few days after ordering it. I have not used it a lot but it seems to work very well and is much quieter than I thought it would be. I used to have a gas powered unit on my flatbed truck and this is so much nicer. I mounted it in an underbody toolbox and have all my bed space back. I purchased an 8 gallon tank and mounted it under the bed.
The only complaint I have if you can even call it that is the power cables are ten feet long. Mounting the unit anywhere on a pickup bed or in the tool boxes on a flatbed is going to require 14-15' of wire unless you have a regular cab. The included wires are 4ga and the manufacturer says you can go up to 20' by switching to 0ga wire which I did. I used 1/0 welding cable. The ground wire is easy to bolt on to the motor but the positive is attached somewhere inside the compressor and you can't get to the point where it is attached without totally disassembling it and the case is sealed with tamper resistant stickers that say warranty is void if you open it.
I called Oasis and they said to cut the positive cable about 6" away from the motor and splice it to the 0ga which I did and it works fine, but is not as clean of an install as I would have liked. Splicing the huge wires isn't exactly easy either. Oasis's preferred method is to use their 10' cables and cut them as short as you can or mount a second battery just for the compressor right beside it. I didn't have room for this so I went the longer cable route. I would guess most typical installs will require 15' or so of cable so it would have been nice if they included that much of the heavier gauge wire from the factory. Unless you are mounting it in a Jeep or adding a battery the ten foot cables are not going to be long enough.
Overall I give it an A+ though and wish I would have bought one long ago. I have been through three gas powered units in the past ten years they just don't seem to last long mounted on a truck bed out in the elements. I am looking forward to having my bed space back and not running out of gas on the compressor or fighting with starting it on cold mornings. I got this compressor just a few days after ordering it. Good Air Compressor
I have it installed in my farm work pickup with a 3 gallon air tank. It will run a 1/2 inch impact to change sprinkler tires and bloiw out radiators and air up truck tires.
I could not do without it. This is our third one! it does not take up a lot of room like a gas powered one.
These are very durable compressors!

Blows The Doors Off My Home Compressor
I bought this compressor for my mobile detailing company so we have enough air pressure to blow the water out of the nooks and crannies of the car after it has been washed.
I have my compressor hooked up to a 4.5 gallon tank and the pressure is set at 140 PSI. It only takes a minute to pressurized the tank from 0 to 140 psi.
We have even run an air ratchet off of the setup with no problems!
Yes its pricy, but for a mobile unit that runs off of 12v it blows the doors off my 120v 5hp home compressor.

Good
Won't run a half inch air impact without a tank like they claim but really nice nonetheless.
Michael Recommends This Oasis Manufacturing Product Product Expert Michael, I checked our website and I'm sorry, we don't say anything about this compressor running an impact wrench. It would completely depend on the tool you're using, and how you're using it.
For example, the TL140200AV impact wrench is rated at 4.7 CFM at 90 PSI. This compressor is rated at 8 CFM at 90 PSI. That's a pretty good matchup since you always want extra CFM on the compressor side. Other impact wrenches may have different CFM demands and may not work at all.
However without a tank, the compressor will have to run continuously to keep up; it's not really the right tool for this job on a regular basis. In an off-road emergency repair it could be pretty useful.
If you're using an impact wrench to change out tires like a service truck you would really need a truck mounted air compressor to get the job done. more Was this review helpful? 0 0 |

Don't
Very let down, will not run a quarter inch impact except for a 3 second burst, in other words when the hose is out of air it's over. Must have a tank, it does not come with a pressure cut off switch. In other words it will blow the hose and keep pumping. You can buy better or just as good for half the price.
Product Expert Tim, We are sorry to hear of the issue with your Oasis product. Your best option would be to voice your concerns to Oasis directly. They can be reached at 888-966-2747. more Brand Rep Tim, I'm sorry you're having trouble with our compressor.
We've never tested our compressors with a 1/4" impact wrench, all our testing has been done with 1/2" impact wrenches. That said, our compressors will indeed do what no other dc powered compressors can do by a wide margin - run a 1/2" impact, without a tank, under the following conditions:
1. Use a high quality tool from a reputable manufacturer (ie: Ingersoll-Rand, Snap On, etc) that makes efficient use of air, meaning a low CFM consumption rate and a high torque output. Cheap tools will not work well in this application without a tank.
2. Make sure the compressor is getting adequate electrical power. The motor draws 150 amps while the compressor is running. Sure, that's a lot of power, but this is what it takes to get 8 cfm @ 100 psi out of a 12 volt dc compressor. In order to run properly, the electrical system needs to be healthy and configured properly. The less power the compressor gets, the slower the motor runs and therefore the less air it will deliver. Please contact me personally if in doubt, I will be happy to review your power system with you. My toll free number is 888-966-2747.
3. Yes, the trigger needs to be pulled in 2 to 3 second bursts for optimal results without a tank. The good news is you only have to wait 2 to 3 seconds before you can pull it again, and most lug nuts for example will come completely off in one burst.
Following these guidelines, we have tested our compressor using the Ingersoll-Rand IR231 and 2135TiMax 1/2" impact wrenches, with the consistent results of tightening eight 9/16" lug nuts to 150 ft/lbs of torque within one minute of operation. That's huge torque, a job done quickly, and without a tank! Please call me, and I will be happy to help you get the most out of our product. And if the performance still is not up to your liking, we will be happy to issue you a refund directly if you made your purchase within the last 30 days. more Was this review helpful? 11 11 |
