I have had this product for a little over one year.
I use it for filling my two SUV vehicle tires and my mountain bike. Today, it is useless for anything other than bicycle tires.
While filling only one SUV tire, the hose gets hotter than a radiator hose, the unit strains and it barely inflates. This is far from heavy duty and after I year, I have to look for something else. I feel this was a waste of money.
ACD RESPONDS: We understand your disappointment; maybe putting "heavy duty" in perspective may help.
This unit has more durable components than other cheaper, mostly plastic units have. That is the heavy duty that the Slime folks are referring to.
Slime markets the unit is for filling car and light truck tires, and they use a P195 tire as an example. A P195 tire is about the size you would find on a VW Rabbit, or other compact car. So they weren't marketing it for heavy duty applications.
The unit would be great for occasionally topping off a larger vehicle tire, but routinely filling big SUV and RV tires will wear it out quickly.
RV inflators are available that can handle large volume tires, but they are a lot more expensive.
