Better Than I Expected
I was going on a very remote Jeep trip with a group that I wasn't familiar with so I bought this compressor just in case I needed it.

I have used it to air up 35" tires from 12 to 25lbs for 2 years. It is slow, noisy, gets hot, and the hose is about done. It also blows fuses when it gets too hot from abuse. The part that plugs in likes to vibrate apart and a small piece of it chipped off.
...but it still works!

This poor thing has been beaten and abused WAY beyond any expectations... more

Junk!
On 1st attempt to add air to a mounted tire it blew out most all my fuses. Of all the choices I had at that point I chose to toss it in the trash and get on with my life. I also did not buy it from this site so I can't blame them.

Let the buyer beware!
Cons: Blew Out All Fuses 1st Time

Don't Do It!!
I bought this inflator for my Jeep. When I go offroading, I deflate my tires, then reinflate when I head back to the main road. Used this unit only twice before it burned the motor up. A friend bought the same one and it burned up after only 3 uses. BY THE WAY I DID NOT PURCHASE THIS ITEM FROM THIS COMPANY, GOT IT FROM AN AUTO PARTS STORE.
Pros: Features, Easy To Use, Price, Easy To Store
Cons: Low Quality, Unreliable, Durability

Richard,
Inflators are meant to occasionally top off a tire; they were never designed to meet the demands of off-road enthusiasts.

We recommend using On-Board Compressors designed specifically repetitive use on large tires and rough terrain.

Using the right tool for the job will make sure you are never left out in the woods!

Hose Blew Out
I purchased my compressor less then a year ago. I tried to pump a partially deflated tire and the green plastic hose blew out. I tried to cut off the bad section and repair, but it's all brittle. I'm trying to get another hose.

ACD RESPONDS: This unit has a 1 year Factory Warranty through the folks at Slime. Just give them a call, toll free, at (888) 457-5463 to arrange warranty replacement.

Slime Heavy Duty Tire Compressor - Not So Heavy Duty
I have had this product for a little over one year.

I use it for filling my two SUV vehicle tires and my mountain bike. Today, it is useless for anything other than bicycle tires.

While filling only one SUV tire, the hose gets hotter than a radiator hose, the unit strains and it barely inflates. This is far from heavy duty and after I year, I have to look for something else. I feel this was a waste of money.

ACD RESPONDS: We understand your disappointment; maybe putting... more

Slime Compressor
My wife bought this for me as a Christmas gift. It worked great for a awhile, saved my butt a few times.

Here's the down side. First when filling up an SUV tire it turns off half way thru the job, the unit over heats and turns off to protect the unit.

The second problem is the hose breaks down and literally breaks, it starts to crack and keeps cracking until you have about a foot left, so it's a little hard to use.

Humor ... If they address the 2 issued I experience then they would... more

Almost Inflated 1 Tire...
I opted for the "Heavy Duty" compressor hoping for longevity. However, I did not make it through the first tire before the compressor quit. Luckily, I was not stranded out in BF Egypt.

I checked my fuse panel and everything was as it should be. I disassembled the compressor and found the switches. Wishing it was just a cheap switch I wired directly to the compressor. No luck. So if you are wanting a compressor that will only pump a total of 30psi in its lifetime this is the one... more

Hard To Find A Good Compressor
This one does fine for bicycle tires, but now has blown out my DC outlet in truck and the one in my wife's car- it's not meant for inflating car tires, at least not through the DC outlet.

If they want to stand behind their product, they can save me from paying another 70 or 80 dollars and send me one of the new ones that work from the battery.

I had to pay for a mechanic to rewire my wife's blown 12v power source.

Doug,
You have a 1 year warranty on the inflator. If it's under a year old you can give the folks at Slime a call, toll free, at (888) 457-5463 to ask for a repair or replacement. Be sure to have the serial number of the inflator handy when you call.

Inflators are meant to top off car tires; they are not meant to inflate flat tires or work with high-PSI (large truck and RV) tires. Please check the inflator's Owner's Manual for recommended run times.

Terrible Pump
After less than a year in my trunk. I attempted to fill some pool toys and was greeted with a dry rotted hose. This rendered the pump useless. Further more Slime doesn't sell replacement parts. WASTE OF MONEY!!

Great Unit
I purchased the Slime COMP 06 - Heavy Duty 12-Volt Tire Inflator about 2 years ago. Just last week I woke up to find that I had 2 flat times!

I had never used the Slime compressor before and didn't know what to expect. I was surprised that it only took approx. 4 minutes to fully inflate the tire -- without having to jack it up! I waited 5 minutes before inflating the other because the instructions said to wait 10 minutes as the unit would probably get hot. It did not get hot.

Greatly Disappointed
Bought this after getting fed up with a Campbell Hausfield inflator that broke after about 10 uses. This one broke on the first use. Ran great until it reached 30-psi and the green hose ruptured where it attaches to the quick connect.

Greatly disappointed.

ACD RESPONDS: These units have 1 year Factory Warranties. You may want to give the folks at Campbell Hausfeld a call, toll free, at 800-330-0712, and the folks at Slime at (888) 457-5463. Please be sure to have the serial numbers handy... more
