It needs 230 volt, single phase power on a 15 amp circuit that it doesn't share with anything else.

Answer
No, the compressor manufacturer's do not recommend using generators to power their air compressors due to the high start up current. They recommend gasoline engine driven compressors for remote applications where utility power is not available.
