I recently picked up a double wheel air compressor from Air Compressors Direct, and overall, I’m very satisfied with the performance and value. The compressor delivers strong, consistent power and has no trouble keeping up with my tools, whether I’m working in the garage or on a job site. The double wheel design makes it easy to move around, and it’s surprisingly stable during use.
Ordering through Air Compressors Direct was a smooth experience. There was a small hiccup with the freight company during shipping—not Air Compressors Directs fault—but they stepped in quickly and handled it efficiently. I really appreciated how responsive and helpful their customer service was.
If I had to point out one downside, I’d say the build quality is almost where I’d like it to be. It’s not a deal-breaker by any means, but a few components feel a little lighter-duty than I expected at this price point. Time will tell how it holds up with regular use.
That said, for the power, portability, and price, it’s still a great buy—just something to be aware of if you’re looking for something extremely heavy-duty.

Great compressor builds air very quickly. Beast of a machine. Only problem is the drain valves seem to leak constantly. Great compressor cheesy drain valves.

I was looking for an air compressor that could put out high cfm to run a duct cleaning rig. I searched for awhile to find one that had the power but also necessary features like automatic engine throttle down/up when pressure is reached, portability, and a name brand engine. This thing has it all, 22 cfm @ 100 psi, honda engine, and a very reasonable price compared to the endless number I had shopped through. Its a freight train, and will EASILY handle multiple framing/roofing nailers. Check the motor and pump pulley alignment before you run it first time.

Great compressor, blows my Makita, and 2 speed Aires out of the water. Make sure u tighten engine mounts to frame. I slipped a belt 2 weeks in. However this compressor will push all your tools! Can run multiple lines with ease. Is rather heavy. Need 2 guys to lift

Great compressor but tank drains don't close all the way. I didn't have the time to wait for customer service to open and then wait for the part so I changed them myself.

Our Max Air came to us with bad pressure relief valves that allow you to drain the tanks. They didn't work from day 1! When I contacted MAXair, they pretty much acknowledged that these valves suck and offered to send me new replacement valves, the same ones that suck! Not impressed with that option, I bought my own quality valves. Because I was unable to drain the tanks for a few days, the inside rusty water came out of the tank when I was able to drain it.
Other than that, it has been working fine so far. I have probably put 40 hours on it.

I have been dryer vent cleaning for the past couple years with an air compressor that produced only 10 CFM at 90 psi. This Maxair has just blown away anything we have used in the past. It produces air flow in a big way and when the governor shuts it down it is as quiet as can be.
I don't know how we did without it. I have only used it on a couple big jobs but it is fuel efficient and it produces results!

Warranty seems slim...

90 Days on parts doesn't seem very generous given the price. Another vendor sells an almost identical unit for $300 less that has a 2 year part warranty/2 year labor warranty.

The warranty on MAXair compressors is 24 months (2 years). That's what we show in our Specs list.
If you read their warranty sheet carefully you will see that any repairs done under the warranty are guaranteed for 90 days or the remainder of the warranty- whichever is longer.
