Regulator trouble
By Jim

Review Posted 03/23/2012
Came into my garage to find the adjustment knob from my EC119SA on the floor 20 feet from my compressor, all the pressure bled off from the open line --- glad I did not leave the switch on or I would not even have a compressor since I don't go into my garage but a couple of times a week. This is a weak link in an otherwise good product-new regulators run around $50

Unit gave up after 40 min of painting

I purchased this at a big box store. It was used for very light duty for about 3 months. Although all maintenance was done as scheduled it started leaking more and more oil into the tank and hose.
For a great finale the compressor blew an oil cap after 40 min of intermittent use of lvlp spray gun, and never started again. It would buzz, hum, and pop the breaker, yet would not start.
I took it back to the big box store just to find out that customer service ... well, it wasn't satisfactory ( I have much more to say about that, just don't feel that I should expose reader to so much profanities). I was not in a good mood that day, so I just left that compressor at the store.
Overall impression: very compact, good controls, good recovery time, looks great in the garage, too bad that unit had too many problems with it. Note to self: don't risk $300 with Hitachi compressor again. I am considering IR, DeWalt or Bosch.

This compressor is the worst I have ever owned, it takes hours to get it to run if at all and in cold weather forget it. Save your money.
