Jenny is a good compressor...

I bought the Jenny because I had inherited an old Emglo from my dad that was 30 years old and ran great. He actually took it back after a few years and that's why I wanted to replace it with the same thing. I didn't care that it cost $500. I wanted a compressor that was gonna last another 30 years.

I am totally happy with the quality and performance of the Jenny. I have had it for about two months and run it everyday for work. It recovers fast and protects the fragile components like the gauge and the switch between the tanks and the pump motor.

I only have two negatives...

One, the price. For $500 bucks it should be twice the compressor that the Rolair is at $250. I would probably go with the Rolair if I were to buy again. I saw the "Emglo" that theoretically is made by Jenny at my local lumber yard for about $300. Looks identical. Maybe even better since the on/off switch is metal on the Emglo and plastic on the Jenny. Same specs all the way down the line...

Two, I wanted to buy American and I read on the Rolair website that they are assembled in America but the components are from other countries. Well turns out my Jenny has a big sticker on it that says, "Made in USA" which made me happy. Then I start looking at the small parts like the plastic pressure adjustment screw on the air outlet gauge and it says "made in Mexico". Kind of a let down, but I guess the old days are over and you probably cannot buy something with 100% American made parts anymore.

Overall a great little unit just not sure if it is worth the price.

Expert Response
I think you will be happy with your Jenny, especially since you're planning on keeping it a long time.

"Made in USA" is a legal definition since it does have value- it means that at least 85% of the parts, and all the major components, come from the US. They are more expensive, but worth the investment.

Because many folks shop for the lowest price, "assembled in USA from globally sourced components" is more common, but still a much better investment than an no-name brand from overseas with no service or parts available.
