QT PRO 7.5 80 Gallon Two Stage
By Mark T.
California
Purchased 02/05/2025 |
Review Posted 04/18/2025
After installation the unit only worked for a few days before it would not always restart. After pushing the start, it would run for a day or so. Called for service, but the tech could not find a problem. A few days later, it would not start at all. Again called for service but this time they were not able to come out for a few days. I had an electrician come out and he found that there was a loose screw on the contactor that was arching and cause the contactor to burn out. I took pictures of the burnt parts and sent them to Quincy. Control box was replaced under Warranty.

Quincy 7.5 QT

Haven’t had the Quincy 7.5 QT compressor but a few weeks so far. But this compressor is by far not my first. With that being said, I have to say that I’m very impressed so far. The installation was straightforward, although I still don’t know why it recommended an 80 amp breaker. The compressor runs much quieter than most others. It seems to be a quality product. Only time will tell but so good so far!

NOT The Quincy Of 30 Years Ago
By Phil J.

Review Posted 09/23/2024
I have 2 of these units and the first unit had electrical problems for the first year and developed a leak in the tank the second year. My newer model was sent with the wrong overload, which I had to hire an electrical to install. Then after a few months stopped being able to make more than 70 psi. Shameful.

Not Like I Thought

I bought Quincy because of the Made In America brand. I have a 5 HP IR and it was made in Mexico, the tank leaked on a weld seam on day 1. The Quincy is a nice machine but they used a 3P starter in place of a 1P starter and the wire lugs will not accept a #8 wire required for the 7.5 HP. The SP starter costs more but would have been the correct way to do it!

Quincy Pumps Are #1

After waiting two months and still not receiving my compressor from another large vendor, I called Air Compressors Direct and they had one shipped to my door in 3 days!! Quincy pumps are amazing! I do auto detailing and paint work. The pump only runs a handful of times a day. It’s nice and quiet in my 40x60x16 all concrete shop! I’m very satisfied with my transaction. Thank you!

Compressor Review

I've been around a lot of air compressors since I have been in the autobody industry for over 35 years and I do have to say that I was pleasantly surprised when I first fired this compressor up. As it was way quieter than I expected. I actually can talk to the person next toe without raising my voice as I do with other compressors I've been around.

Rod Went Through The Block. 2 Years Old,. JUNK.
By Greg F.

Review Posted 06/12/2022
I had this compressor for four years. The first two years were in storage while my shop was being built. I then ran it for two years and just the outer day the rod or crank by the flywheel went through the block. Not very happy. JUNK. Never again.

Very Happy With Our 4th Quincy AC!
By Chris B.
Grand Rapids, Michigan
Purchased 10/24/2020 |
Review Posted 12/30/2020
Our company has had 3 Quincy's now in 20' enclosed mobile equipment trailers, and one set up at our building workshop. We tow the trailers around several States in the Midwest. When we get to the job site, we run the equipment trailer with a tow-behind generator. We work through the height of summer up into the 90's with the AC's working all day. No issues in the 7 years we've used them.
A great air compressor that's also quiet. Pretty important in an enclosed environment.

I bought this to replace an IR that should have lasted a lot longer then what it did and almost bought another but my wife said spend the extra money and get what you really want so I did and I am not disappointed. Came faster then I thought it would giving the circumstances of the world and crated up very well, not so much as a scratch, this thing is a beast. I thought I alone was just gonna walk it off the skid, nope I had to use the hoist. I love it and would buy another as of now a month later and haven't had an issue yet.
