I bought this compressor about 5 years ago to top off my 15” tires from 20 TO 35 PSI. I only used this pump 2-3 times a year. The pump quit this weekend. Knowing that the pump was out of warranty, I contacted Viar to see if this was a common problem. Bottom line, the cost of shipping along with parts & labor does not make it worth getting repaired. This pump was used very lightly and infrequently. It sat on a shelf in my garage for 99.9% of its life. This is supposed to be a quality product. It should have lasted much longer! I would not recommend this product!

This is the third compressor I have purchased for an "on board" built-in compressed air system installed in my Silverado. The first lasted a year. The second cost more & lasted 6 months. I found this one and was familiar with the brand VIAIR as the receiver tank on my PU is VIAIR. I have a three trumpet semi-truck air horn under the bed, pressure gage in the cab, receiver tank under the cab, pressure limit switch on the tank AND an air chuck located in the gas filler door where I can attach an air line and pass air to a flat tire or a floatie-toy. (I also carry a tire repair kit so I can fix that if it isn't a Blow-Out). I help out stranded motorist ALL THE TIME. This Compressor runs so quietly and gets the pressure up so quickly - a fraction of the time the other two compressors I had. I highly recommend this item for any 12V Compressor Needs.
